I have used a picture of myself and my teacher showing a good distance between us to make sure there is a visual of how far the space should be if you are not aware already.
I wrote in Te Reo that you should speak to me when you are 2m away from the other person and it also says that you should remember to wear your mask.
I have also added the school moto and logo because my poster is going to be in the community. Kids at my school don’t social distance, I’m one of those students and thought that it would be good to see a poster around the school to help remind us of what to do while we are with our friends.

The reason I decided to use the statements on my poster is to encourage all people that if we do not look out for each other, no matter how frustrating it could be with all the rules, everyone should show care and kindness for others.
I especially wanted to use the statements I have because I feel for the teachers because they have to wear them all day everyday.
It should be that we as students wear them too in support of our teachers, but only some of us wear them so I guess it’s best if at least some show support at least. It’s great to see our teachers really show they care about us students.

I wanted to create this poster because my whanau were leaving their bubble in the lower levels. I took the photo of me and my mates, some of us are pretending to have a party while our other mate is sitting by himself doing the right thing.
I wrote on my poster that the children are following the adult’s footsteps so they need to do the right thing to make sure we do it too. My poster says to stay at home and stay safe. We need to see our parents do the right thing even if they don’t want to follow the rules so that us rangatahi see it for ourselves- that our parents can do the right thing too!
Just because we are youth and can be disrespectful, adults need to understand that we have seen this behaviour from somewhere, that somewhere is from their own actions.

Students from 9 Kiwi have had the opportunity to win a laptop for themselves, simply by creating a poster promoting the health and safety of our whanau, while living with Covid-19 and the Delta variant.
Taumarunui High School had 3 Maori students that were successful in winning a laptop for themselves by using pictures of themselves, and phrases that they had thought of in Te Reo that would get people thinking about not only themselves but for others in the community. There were also posters that have been displayed in and around the vaccination centers. We are also wanting to work alongside Kokiri Trust, to develop a positive relationship where our rangatahi can work alongside a community organisation and create more posters when in need.
