Our rangatahi delved immediately into the PTC workshop on robotic technology. Alicia and her team from Waikato University were very competent at ensuring students understood the why and how of the technology. Developing familiarity and capacity to handle mechatronics is a key aim of the workshop. Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) pick, sort, and transport orders; robotic arms pack items; and autonomous ground vehicles navigate the huge warehouses’. Workplaces both locally and globally are integrating robots into manufacturing process and keeping upskilled and up to date with these developments ensures that our rangatahi are well-positioned to be relevant for the advancing future.
