It is critical that the message about protecting our environment, flows down to rangatahi.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council advises that “there are many challenges in maintaining and protecting our water”.  They identify the following key concerns.

• “Habitat protection for important freshwater species.

• Water quality.

• Providing for people's sustainable water use.

• Recognising and providing for cultural values”.

  PTC drones workshop enabled youth to utilise drone technology as a tool to map our environmental landscapes. Using drones safely, however, is pivotal in our desire to equip youth with new technological skills. Rangatahi created posters raising awareness of the safe use of drone technology for their classmates.
